The forge of creativity & business that was Marvel Comics was a synchronic chord sounded by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko and all the authors and artists and inkers and colorists who worked there. At Chameleon we aim to train students to become good all round performers, adaptable to space, social situations, teaching them life skills as well as strong technique, fun show work and graded qualifications (with the Association of American Dancing).
The Third year climaxes with a continuous run of solo shows; each students gets their own solo show in an actual art gallery, in a location off-campus. In the 1980's Aids Awareness comics were issued (Ninja high School). If you art class Eastwood know where to look one can find incredible literary treasures in this unique American art form-The Comic Book, now worldwide in acceptance, popular in every country (indeed, as a teaching tool one could learn other languages).

When comics were released I was the kid waiting to cut the plastic strip off the piles of new D.C. and Marvel comics before the manager got around to it back in 1961 at Thrifties so I could get the newest releases before anyone & pull out the most pristine "mint" issue each and every Tues.
Spider-man-the new Marvel film in the works-is about a kid who with usual teenage angst (bullies beating him up, not getting any babes, acne and so forth is mild stuff compared to today's school experiences-such as not getting shot & killed while going to or attending school or being seduced by a deadly drug or infected by a killer disease) is merely bitten by a radioactive spider (radical stuff for the early 1960's).
I am honored and privileged to lead a dynamic community where teachers and staff cultivate an environment in which students achieve and believe in themselves and their school. Eastwood Elementary, one of six Hillsboro schools piloting trauma informed practices helping students become more resilient and able to learn.

Both artists and teachers go to staff development trainings to learn how to better use the arts to teach required content. The dance school was started in 1987, and Louise Ringshaw took over the dance school in December 2004 and in December 2005 decided to rename the school to Chameleon Theatre Arts.

Kinder through 8th grade Dual Language students receive Chinese instruction daily as part of their fine arts block. He was the spokesperson, promoter and Publisher of Marvel Comics at the time. For over 20 years EKIS has offered its community the opportunity to be part of a Two-Way Dual Language program where students learn both English & Spanish through a rigorous and culturally rich curriculum.
There are many Star Trek and Star Wars Comics from Marvel and D.C. that have been issued and I collected in the past all of which are very popular. Originally established in 1965 by Elizabeth Byrd Mitchell, the Mitchell School of Fine Arts provides professional fine art instruction to beginner and advanced students in the tradition of the European Masters.
